Keeping Your Basement Dry
At Force Basements, we install various basement waterproofing solutions to help mitigate water intrusion in your basement. We use trusted SafeBasements™ systems to capture and remove water that enters your home. These products include collection systems that work at the cove joints and basement edges to restrict water, urethane injection products to seal smaller holes and cracks in the walls, and high-quality sump pumps to remove the water from your home once it is collected.
Interior Drain Tiles
Drain tiles are a basement waterproofing system designed to collect the water entering your home and direct it away from the interior of your home. The SafeEdge™ and SafeDrain™ systems are manufactured in the United States and combat different water leaks most basements experience. These products are effective in the worst situations and keep your home dry no matter the weather conditions. These systems are often coupled with a sump pump system to effectively remove all water that would be entering your basement. Additionally,
SafeEdge™ is the end-all, be-all of basement dewatering systems, capturing water inside the wall, under the floor, outside the wall, or flowing through a cove joint. SafeEdge™ is used with a multi-flow drain tile, directing water that drains from weep holes in the wall to the drainfield where multi-flow drain tiles are installed. Made of five perforated chambers with ports on the bottom, this system is designed to be placed under basement floors and inside crawl spaces. Our contractors will dig a trench, lay a bed of pea rock along the bottom, set the multi-flow drain tile in place, then fill the trench with pea rock. This allows water along the basement perimeter to quickly travel into the drain tile. SafeEdge™ also includes a radon and vapor moisture seal.
SafeDrain™, on the other hand, resembles a gutter and is installed on top of the footing, capturing water inside the wall and working its way through the cove joint.
If you live in an area that experiences regular heavy rain, our technicians may recommend installing a drain tile system and a sump pump to keep your home safe and dry.
Sump Pump Installation
Sump pumps collect water from drain tile systems and forcibly remove it from your home. These systems work in the toughest conditions and can be installed with a battery backup to protect your home even if the power goes out. A sump pump is necessary to pump the water away from your home — it is an essential part of the basement waterproofing system. If you are experiencing a wet basement, then having a sump pump system installed may be the perfect choice for your home. This waterproofing system is one of the most efficient ways to keep your basement dry year-round despite extreme weather conditions. DIY vs. Professional Repair
Unfortunately, waterproofing your basement isn’t just some weekend project you can pick up from YouTube tutorials — without the right tools or expertise, you could end up with a costly, ineffective solution that no amount of advice from the comment section can fix. Depending on the condition of the foundation, adding a basement dewatering system could compromise the structural integrity, causing the foundation to fail. With years of experience, the right equipment for every job, and a unique understanding of your home’s foundation, Force Basements can take the hard work out of your hands, installing a long-term basement waterproofing system that keeps your basement dry and secures peace of mind for you and your family.
